Raccoon startles morning bathroom visitor: Olmsted Township Police Blotter

OLMSTED TOWNSHIP, Ohio

Unwanted wildlife: Flagler Drive

Police were dispatched at 4:45 a.m. Sept. 18 to a home into which an unwanted raccoon gained entry. It was found in the bathroom’s cupboard enjoying a bit of cat food. Police were able to catch the uninvited guest and safely removed it.

Assistance: Oakwood Drive

Police assisted the Olmsted Township fire department at 5:43 a.m. Sept. 21 with a woman who gave birth outside in the parking lot. Mother and newborn were transported to the hospital. Both were reportedly healthy.

Suspicious person: Periwinkle Drive

Someone called police at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 18 about a 20- to 30-year-old man who had a knife on his side while walking through the park. When officers arrived the man was not there, but special attention was placed at that location. The man apparently did not threaten or display the knife while walking.

Fighting: Carl Lane

A caller told police at 1:16 a.m. Sept. 20 there was a fight in progress involving several people outside a home. During the call, the complainant said everyone who was involved got into two cars and left the park. When police arrived, all parties were gone.

Civil issue: John Road

A woman at 10:20 a.m. Sept. 18 called police about her ex-boyfriend who was there trying to retrieve a car. The ex was in the driveway honking his horn. A tow truck was contacted to retrieve the car without any further issues.
