Mountain View house sells for $5.4 million, city’s most expensive sale in 2022

The home was originally listed at $4.798 million, but it sold for almost $600,000 over the original listing price after just eight days on the market. This current sale is close to the all-time highest sale in the city at $5.477 million, which closed last year.

Newly built in 2020, the 3,544-square-foot home has six bedrooms and six bathrooms. It centers on indoor-outdoor living with a living room and kitchen that opens onto a landscaped garden via a 14-foot folding glass door. There are two bedrooms on the first floor and four bedrooms on the second, including a primary suite with a private balcony. The outdoor area also includes a bocce court and garden with fruit and avocado trees.

The listing agent was David Kim from Compass.

Kim says he is seeing a large demand for Mountain View homes on the upper-end of the pricing scale, especially new construction homes.

“The story here really is the emergence of a new luxury market in Mountain View,” Kim says. “In fact, we had 160 groups through our open houses and received several competitive offers with either huge down payments or all cash.”
