Etsy reveals the top home decor trends for 2022

With so much choice in homeware, it can be difficult to know if your tastes are on trend.

Fortunately experts at online marketplace Etsy have analysed search data to reveal the items British shoppers just can’t live without, so you know if your home looks stylish, or a little passee.

After years of feeling isolated and cut off due to the pandemic, customers are seeking out furniture and accessories full of texture that are exciting to the touch.

Mood-boosting ombres and trinkets that remind us of our childhood – like 90s inspired jewellery trays – are also seeing a surge in popularity.

Here, the experts share five of the biggest trends to look out for this year…

1. OVER THE TOP TEXTURE

After years of social distancing and feeling isolated, many people are craving all things tactile and embracing texture in their homes, according to experts. Rattan lampshades, like this one from H&M, £39.99, can add a variety of texture to your home making it feel more dynamic and lived in

But it’s not just furniture that’s seeing a texture boost.

Don’t be afraid to mix and match textures, layering a variety of different materials together—from leather, velvet and woven textiles to carved items.
