Shock as burglar discovered clambering through bathroom window at a house in Yeovil

A woman living in Somerset had a nasty surprise when they went into the bathroom of their home – and discovered a burglar clambering through their bathroom window.

The incident happened last week in Yeovil and police are now appealing for help to catch the would-be burglar and his friend.

Police said the unknown offender had climbed onto a low level roof at a residential property on the Monks Dale estate at around 7.45pm on Tuesday, October 6, and then tried to get into the house through a partially-opened bathroom window.

“They were interrupted by the occupant and fled the scene,” a police spokesperson said.

She issued a description of the burglar as well as of another man who is thought to have been with him.

“The offender is described as wearing a black top with long sleeves. Another person seen wearing a white hooded top was also seen leaving the area shortly after the incident,” she added.

“The victim has been given crime prevention advice by officers and we are encouraging residents in the area to be vigilant.
