My New Hero

Move over Chuck, I have a new hero: Gary Faulkner. This 52-year-old California construction worker decided to fight terrorism the good ol’ fashioned way: vigilante style. Packing a 3-foot-long sword, a pistol (I hope it was a six-shooter), and a pair of night vision goggles, Mr. Faulkner was, and I quote, on “a mission to decapitate Osama Bin Laden.”
Was his true motive to rid the world of a really bad guy or the $25 million bounty? Who really cares. Faulkner did what so many of us wish we had the balls to do. It is just unfortunate that he was caught while in Pakistan.
After reading about Faulkner, it lead me to wonder, why haven’t more individuals gone after Bin Laden? With a bit of digging, I quickly found out there have been more including a former British SAS and an ex-US Army Special Forces soldier. I bow to all of them. Motive be damned. Good work, men. Good effort.
We need more people like Faulkner. Sure, he could be mentally unstable and possibly dangerous to those around him. But if terrorists truly believed that we harbored no fear and instead wanted to pull a John Shaft on their asses, they might think twice about fucking with the United States.
I’m sure there are those that are appalled by the idea of someone taking the law into their own hands. I can hear the whines of how it is morally and ethically wrong. An eye for an eye and the whole world goes blind. I think Mahatma Ghandi said that. Well, if the son of a bitch is blind, then he sure the hell can’t see me coming with my bad ass .45, now can he?
